## NAME
       softlimit - runs another program with new resource limits.

## SYNOPSIS
       **softlimit** [ _opts_ ] _child_

## DESCRIPTION
       _opts_ is a series of getopt-style options.  _child_ consists of one or more arguments.

       **softlimit** sets soft resource limits as specified by _opts_.  It then runs _child_.

## OPTIONS
       In each of the following _opts_**,** _n_ may be =, indicating that the soft limit should be set equal
       to the hard limit.

       _opts_ **controlling** **memory** **use:**


### -m -d -s -l -a

### -d

### -s

### -l
              some operating systems.

### -a
              some operating systems.

### -o
              on some operating systems.

### -p

       _opts_ **controlling** **file** **sizes:**

### -f

### -c

       **Efficiency** _opts:_

### -r
              memory is full.

### -t
              receives a SIGXCPU signal after _n_ seconds.
