## NAME
       dict_lookup - DICT Protocol Client

## SYNOPSIS
       **dict**___**lookuop** _[options]_

## DESCRIPTION
       **dict**___**lookup** reads X selection, then open **terminal** emulator and run **dict** client in it allowing
       user to view content using **pager**.  It makes sense to configure  launching  dict_lookup  on  a
       keyboard shortcut in the window manager.

              query, if it is specified, X selection is not read.

## ENVIRONMENT
       **dict**___**lookup**  recognizes  the following environment variables.  The default value is specified
       in square brackets.

       **D**___**AWK**___**PROG**
              AWK interpreter to use.  [_awk_]

       **D**___**XCLIP**___**PROG**
              xclip application.  [_xclip_]

       **D**___**XTERM**___**PROG**
              xterm or equivalent terminal emulator.  [_xterm_]

       **D**___**UTF8**___**LOCALE**
              UTF-8 locale.  [_first_ _available_ _UTF-8_ _locale_ _on_ _system_]

       **D**___**DICT**___**PROG**
              Dictionary client program.  [_dict_]

       **D**___**DICT**___**SERVER**
              Option for dictionary client specifying the server.  [_-h_ _dict.org_]

       **D**___**DICT**___**PORT**
              Option for dictionary client specifying the port.  [_-p_ _2628_]

       **D**___**DICT**___**DB**___**OPT**
              Option for dictionary client specifying the database.  [_-d_ _foldoc_]

       **D**___**XTERM**___**CLASS**
              Option for terminal emulator specifying the class.  [_-class_ _XTerm_]

       **D**___**XTERM**___**NAME**
              Option for terminal emulator specifying the name.  [_-name_ _xterm_dict_]

       **D**___**XTERM**___**TITLE**
              Option for terminal emulator specifying the title.  [_-title_ _dict_lookup_]

       **D**___**TEXT**___**WIDTH**
              Program calculating text width for given text.  [_cyrillic_text_width_]
              cyrillic_text_width doesn't work correctly for  Japanese,  Korean,  Chinese  and  some
              other languages.

       **D**___**TERM**___**X**
              Terminal emulator X coordinate.  [_+200_]

       **D**___**TERM**___**Y**
              Terminal emulator Y coordinate.  [_+200_]

       **D**___**TERM**___**H**
              Terminal emulator height.  [_+40_]

       **D**___**PAGER**
              Pager.  [_less_ _-R_]
