## NAME
       fmtdump - decode nmh's [_mh-format_(5)](https://www.chedong.com/phpMan.php/man/mh-format/5/markdown) files

## SYNOPSIS
**/usr/lib/mh/fmtdump** [**-help**] [**-version**] [**-form** _formatfile_] [**-format** _string_]

**fmtdump** parses an **nmh** format file and produces a pseudo-language listing of how **nmh** inter‐
prets the file. This is useful when debugging a complicated format file.

The **-format** _string_ and **-form** _formatfile_ switches may be used to specify a format string or
format file to read. See [_mh-format_(5)](https://www.chedong.com/phpMan.php/man/mh-format/5/markdown) for details.

## FILES
       $HOME/.mh_profile The user's profile.
       /etc/nmh/scan.default
                           The default format file.

## PROFILE COMPONENTS
Path: To determine the user's nmh directory.
